Crow Country v20250510-Tenoke is pure survival horror. It’s a tightly packed game that doesn’t waste a moment of your time. As I mentioned in my review, the presentation in Crow Country is consistently stellar, especially the lighting, which makes each room of the theme park distinct. Crow Country captures the essence of a small-town amusement park in an eerie way.

Crow Country v20250510-Tenoke Overview
It’s a compelling setting for a survival horror game. The spectacle isn’t too grand, the attractions are a bit lackluster, and there are no safety regulations. Staff memos scattered throughout the game further bring the setting to life, describing a park that always felt on the verge of collapse and the employees’ consistent frustrations with each other and management.

Key Features
- The writing has a fun, tongue-in-cheek tone that is appropriate for the amusement park setting, yet it remains serious enough so as not to drown the story in levity.
- While the other characters in Crow Country don’t say much, Mara is a fun protagonist who has a similar energy to Heather Mason from Silent Hill 3 (Konami, 2003).
- She’s somewhat snarky, yet genuinely caring.
- She doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt at Crow Country. In my first impressions, I wrote that Crow Country didn’t appear to be reinventing survival horror; instead, it chose to replicate the genre’s successes.
- The full release only reaffirms how well Crow Country executes the formula.
- It’s an incredibly satisfying game to progress through, much like classic Resident Evil.
- The classic loop of finding locked doors while exploring, solving puzzles to acquire key items, and using those items to progress is perfectly recreated.
