The developer mentions Battlefield 1942 and Brothers in Arms as inspirations and states that the team was tired of waiting for a game to replace Electronic Arts’ long-unsupported title.However, the developers assure us that all the assets and models in Heroes of Valor were created from scratch, unlike the unofficial projects, such as Phoenix Heroes and Risinghub. The entire game is based on a different engine, Unreal Engine, and many elements have been changed or added, or will be added in the future via Reddit or Steam.
